Detailed Features of Insta360 X5

1. Large 1/1.28-Inch Sensor for Detailed 360° Footage

The Insta360 X5 features a 1/1.28-inch sensor, offering a larger sensor area than the 1/2-inch sensors used in the Insta360 X3 and X4. This design helps improve light capture and provides a foundation for detailed images and enhanced low-light performance.

With its 360-degree recording capability, you can capture the surrounding environment and choose your preferred viewing angle during editing. This is particularly useful for travel videos, adventure footage, group recordings, and creative social media content.

2. Replaceable Scratch-Resistant Lenses

The Insta360 X5 features scratch-resistant, replaceable lenses designed to make maintenance more convenient.

For action-camera users who frequently travel, hike, cycle, or participate in outdoor activities, replaceable lenses can be a practical advantage. If a lens becomes damaged, it may be possible to replace the affected lens instead of replacing the entire camera.

3. AI-Powered PureVideo and Triple-Chip Processing

The Insta360 X5 introduces PureVideo, an AI-based processing feature designed to reduce image noise and improve dynamic range in low-light environments.

Its triple-chip system combines one 5nm AI chip with two professional imaging chips. According to the supplied product information, this architecture provides up to 140% more computing power, helping support advanced image processing and video features.

These improvements make the camera suitable for evening travel videos, indoor scenes, nighttime adventures, and other situations where lighting conditions can be challenging.

4. 8K 30fps Video, 5.7K Active HDR and 4K 120fps

Capture immersive footage with several video recording options designed for different creative needs.

• 8K at 30fps: High-resolution 360° recording for detailed panoramic videos.
• 5.7K at 60fps with Active HDR: Designed to capture smoother footage with enhanced highlight and shadow detail in supported conditions.
• 4K at 120fps: High-frame-rate recording for slow-motion action footage.
• PureVideo: Available at 8K 30fps and 5.7K 30fps according to the supplied specifications.

Whether you are filming scenic landscapes, fast-moving activities, or everyday adventures, these recording options give you flexibility when creating and editing videos.

5. InstaFrame: Record Flat and 360° Videos Together

The Insta360 X5 introduces InstaFrame, a feature that records a conventional flat video and a 360-degree video at the same time, at up to 5.7K 30fps according to the supplied specifications.

This feature is useful for creators who want ready-to-share footage without giving up the creative freedom of 360° recording.

You can share the flat video quickly and later edit the 360° footage to select different angles, reframe the action, or create additional clips from the same recording session.

6. IP68 Water Resistance for Outdoor Adventures

The Insta360 X5 features an IP68 rating and supports underwater use at depths of up to 15 meters (49 feet) without a dive case under the manufacturer’s specified conditions.

This makes it suitable for compatible underwater recording, beach trips, travel, water activities, and outdoor adventures.

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for seals, maintenance, and underwater use to help protect the camera from water damage.

7. Improved Audio and Wind-Noise Reduction

The Insta360 X5 features a new steel mesh wind guard and improved audio processing designed to help reduce unwanted wind noise.

This is useful for motorcycle rides, cycling, hiking, outdoor vlogging, and other activities where wind can interfere with recorded sound.

A compatible wireless microphone can also help improve voice recording for interviews, narration, and creator-focused content. The microphone’s remote-control functionality adds convenience when operating the camera.

8. 2,400mAh Battery for Longer Recording Sessions

The Insta360 X5 is equipped with a 2,400mAh battery designed for extended recording sessions.

According to the supplied specifications, the camera can record for up to:

• 187 minutes at 5.7K 24fps
• 88 minutes at 8K 30fps

Actual battery life varies depending on recording settings, temperature, connectivity, and usage conditions.

9. Fast USB-C Charging

Spend less time waiting between recording sessions with the Insta360 X5’s fast-charging capability.

Using a compatible 30W USB-C charger, the camera can reach approximately 80% battery capacity in 20 minutes and a full charge in around 35 minutes, according to the supplied specifications.

For travel and extended shooting sessions, fast charging helps make it easier to get back to recording.

10. Compatible Accessories for Creative Recording

The Insta360 X5 supports accessories that expand its recording possibilities.

• Wireless microphone: Helps capture clearer voice audio and can also function as a remote control.
• 3-meter invisible selfie stick: Provides additional reach for creative perspectives and compatible invisible selfie-stick effects.
